"Canoeing down the Tarn" : Sainte-Enimie - La Malene - 13 km. "Starting point ? Sainte-Enimie bridge [2] - Canoe ? ready - Waterproof can ? fastened - Life jacket ? ok - Go !" Rapids, whirpools, collisions, overturns, beachings, spins... When you dare look further than the tip of the canoe, what a sight : the Tarn straights, cirque de Saint-Chely, Chateau de La Caze, cliffs, clear water... Arrival at La Malene [3] as a winner !
"A flight over Causse Mejean" : Le Chanet airport [4], Nivoliers - Meyrueis Bright sunny day. 30 enchanting minutes of glider over the Causses, Sainte-Enimie, the Tarn [5] and Jonte [6] canyons. Surprising view over the round green spots dotting the vast dry lands which as as many dolines (some day they will cave in and show new swallowholes and avens). On this photo [7] shot from the plane, see the "S" made by river Tarn at the Pas-du-Souci straight and Saint-Chely cirque, both overlooked by the "Point Sublime" (listed site, altitude 870m).
"Circuit des Cascades d'Orgon [8]" : it follows in its first part a transhumance track that led herds from the South to the high pastures of Aigoual and Lingas mountains. Mont-Aigoual, 1567 m, is Cevennes highest point and gigantic water-tower. Early in the morning, seas of white cotton-like clouds fill in the valleys [9]. When the weather is clear, panoramic views from the Mont-Ventoux to the Mont-Blanc, the Pyrenees to the Puys and the near Mediterranean sea. Winter snowstorms are terrible there.
"Circuit des Corniches Mejean, canyon de la Jonte" : Col de Perjuret. A narrow road overlooking the Jonte canyon leads to the hamlet of Cassagnes. Acrobatic up and downway path, aerial crossings, sight of an ermitage on the Causse Noir side of the canyon, gliding vultures. This place has a grandiose and impressive beauty with its sculpted rocks "China vase" and "Sevres vase" [10] and its breathtaking cliffs, a paradise for rock-climbers [11] [12].
