Longwy - Cons-la-Granville, first part of a trip to the fortress of Sedan. Even if the stop at Longwy is too short, two "musts" at Longwy-Haut: chinaware and enamels at the Musee Municipal and the Museum of ironing (more than 3000 astonishing pieces), both museums being hosted by a former military building, next to the Porte de France.
The road along river Chiers is peaceful, from Cons-la-Granville (Renaissance chateau built on a former chateau-fort), Fermont (fort of Ligne Maginot), Longuyon, Charency-Vezin, typical lorrain street-village and its calcareous meadow.
