In provencal Drome, the city of Buis-les-Baronnies (370 m) is the center of a 21 "communes" district . At some 40 km by road north of most famous Mont-Ventoux, Buis [1] is renowned for its climate and numerous tasty local products : olives and olive-oil, apricots, lavender, truffles and lime-tree. Saint-Julien [2] is one of the most remarkable rock-climbing sites of the region.
Leaving Mont-Ventoux behind, head North towards Plan de Baix at the foot of beautiful wild Vercors and follow the route of the impressive Gorges d'Ombleze, cross the Moulin de la Pipe. Close to Ansage, here are the grandiose Anse cliffs [3] [4] seen from the Chute de la Druise (Druise waterfall) car-park [5]. The waterfall is 72 m high [6] and a path leads down to its transparent green waters [7] [8].
