Savoie

Bourg Saint-Maurice, Savoie

Bourg Saint-Maurice, 850 m

Leaving Lyon by car for the Alps and especially the Savoy moutains ? Drive through Chambery, Albertville, Moutiers, follow the N90 straight to Bourg Saint-Maurice, parc de la Vanoise. Off from Aoste ? Climb up to the Col du Petit Saint-Bernard (2 642m) and slope down to this typical Haute-Tarentaise village which is very easily reachable by road, highway, train and plane thanks to the 1992 Winter Olympic Games. The Savoy riches (baroques churches, museums, frescoes, crafts...) have been well preserved.

Parc National de la Vanoise, Mont-Blanc massif and Italy are at short range. It takes a few minutes by car or funicular from Bourg Saint-Maurice to reach the immense skiing fields of Les Arcs.
